SUNDARBANS




Sundarbans is the most wonderful place of tourism spot in Bangladesh. It is one of the biggest mangrove forest in the world. It is the largest continuous  block of mangrove forest in the world. Its area is 5770sq km of land and water. It is the part of world delta; which has been from sediments deposited by the grate rivers. The western part of the forest lies in India and the rest [about 60%] in Bangladesh.



One third of the area of this is covered by river cannel and tidal creeks, varying in width from.Just a few meters to 5 kilometers in some places. All the parts of Sundarbans are subject to tidal tides. The Bangladesh part of this forest is dominated by all high mangrove forest cover. The climate is mainly tropical maritime with lost of rain, most of which falls during the moon soon.The International park area is covered by Mangrove forest. There are small patches of brackish and sandy areas with grass and low shrubs on some of the outer Island. There are many beautiful tress in this forest. Sundari, Golpata, Kaora and Geoa are the most beautiful trees in this forest. Sundarbans is home to many different species of birds, mammals, insects, reptiles and fishes over 120 species of fish and over 270 species of birds have been records in the Sundarbans. The Gangetic River Dolphin (platanista gangeticus) is common in the river. Know less than 50 species reptiles and eight species of amphibians are known to occur. The Sundarbans now support the only population of the Estuarine, or salt-water crocodile in Bangladesh, and that population is estimed at less than 200 individuals. About 32 species mammal of are still found in this forest. Among these are Rhesus Macaques, Clawless Ottes, fishing cats, Leopard Cats and Spotted Deer.
